If you鈥檙e not into Black Friday shopping, the weekend after Turkey Day can be pretty low-key 鈥斕齜ut it doesn鈥檛 have to be (unless you like that, of course). This year, metro Detroit is offering all kinds of fun events to enjoy during the long Thanksgiving weekend. Dr. Seuss鈥 How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical

Immersive sets, inspired costumes, and plenty of well-loved songs bring everyone鈥檚 favorite holiday bedtime story to life on the Fox Theatre stage this month. Narrated by Max the dog, the family-friendly story follows the mean-spirited, Christmas-hating Grinch as he attempts to steal the festive spirit from nearby Who-ville. Nine showtimes are available. America鈥檚 Thanksgiving Day Parade

Holly Dickens Festival

This year marks the 51st anniversary for this annual festival, which transforms historic Holly into a scene right out of a Charles Dickens story. Wander the streets for live music and performances, try delicious food, and shop local vendors. Blake鈥檚 Holiday Extravaganza

The Holidays at Meadow Brook

Meadow Brook celebrates the holidays with its Holiday Walk and Winter Wonder Lights events. Wayne County Lightfest

The annual听Wayne County Lightfest听drive-thru display occupies four miles of Hines Park and features nearly 50 animated displays made up of more than 100,000 lights. MI Bright Lights

Wild Lights
